I've come here a few times to pickup dim sum / bbq to go . This place is super busy and they always have customers coming in and out to pick up food . They have pei pa ap (flat roast duck ) , siu ap ( braised roast duck ) , siu yuk ( roast pork ) , pig ears , pig stomach , dim sum , and to go cooked foods (chow mein , beef flat noodle , and many other foods . Prices for the roast duck and roast pork is a few dollars cheaper than 99 ranch or other bbq places . Food is always fresh and the ladies who work here are always nice and friendly !

A "hole in the wall" Chinese deli that makes you think you walked into Oakland or San Francisco's Chinatown. Boxes stacked up to the left and Char Siu BBQ pork and soyu chicken hanging in the glass. Don't expect flowers and fancy tables, in fact there are no tables, just a couple of wooden chairs backed up to the boxes in case you have to wait. Volume of food is generous, and prices are higher than they used to be but still relatively good. Pro Tip - Get the Jian Dui fried sesame balls when they're hot out of the fryer. A nice treat at 4 for $1. An unexpected hole in the wall in Fremont to get a massive 3 item combo that will be 2 people easily.

Tai Pan BBQ has been on the list for a while and after 2.5 years of living in the Bay, I finally had a chance to try it out while looking at houses in the Fremont area. A few things to note, they did not have any seating indoors and they do have a $15 minimum for cards. With that out of the way, I decided to try their roast duck and roast pork with rice combo. This also comes with a generous heaping of veggies and homemade broth/sauce - all this for only $13.25! There are very few places in the Bay that can serve this kind of value any more! I also got an order of their turnip cake which had a nice toasty layer, and was well seasoned. Both the duck and pork were juicy as well! Perhaps not the best Canto BBQ I have had, but again, how can you beat this value?!
